||The "Volley" is a basic soccer skill that is used to kick a ball, while in the air. A Volley
can be used to pass, shoot a goal, or even clear a ball away from the goal.
The proper Volley technique is to raise the knee while kicking, to bring the foot to the height
of the ball. The ball should be struck on top of the laces. Also, the soccer player should
lock the ankle when performing a volley, so the foot remains firm.
A Half-Volley is when a soccer player kicks the ball during a bounce up from the ground.
